Two Eight Three Five is a Social Enterprise managed by Murdi Paaki Regional Enterprise Corporation.
That means we exist to improve social outcomes for our community.
While you shop, we provide on-the-job training and support to jobseekers in our community, and also demonstrate positive career pathways.
Looking great has never felt so good.
When a downturn in mining saw fewer people shopping in Cobar, Two Eight Three Five (formerly Chi Chi Boutique) almost closed its doors
Luckily, the Social Enterprise team at MPREC saw an opportunity.
We found a way to not only keep this business alive, but also maintain a key part of the local retail economy and provide our clients with a place to learn and grow in their community.
Our team, supported with accredited training in retail operations, help teach a diverse range of skills associated with online business and customer service.
Our Retail Supervisor Kasey Egan oversees the job seekers within the store and mentors them in retail services. This involves teaching them general retail skills such as customer service, retail pricing and visual merchandising. Make sure you have a look at Kasey’s Picks on our homepage - she has a real eye for fashion!
Two Eight Three Five stocks a range of well known labels, with clothes, shoes and accessories. We even stock handmade homewares, made by locals from the Murdi Paaki region as a part of MPREC’s other programs and activities.
